Yesterday morning when we all woke up, I am pretty sure that we were all thinking the same thing. Ugh. The skies decided to pour down on us right as we were supposed to do a tour? So, we donned our sensible shoes, left the heels at home and forged ahead! And, boy, did we get lucky! Every single time that we were on the bus or in one of the B&B’s or under a tent for dinner, it rained buckets but then as soon as we went out for a walking tour the sun popped out. It was absolutely fortuitous. We just trucked through some puddles and had an absolute blast.
I have to admit that the past two days have been full of complete and utter gluttony. Wow, do those Orange County B & B’s and Vendors know how to treat some guests. We, basically, had food at least once an hour. The best mint sweet tea that I have ever had in my life and, folks, my grandma makes a mean, sweet tea. Mint Julep Mimosas or some such concoction. I mean the list goes on and on…. there were hayrides, baby chicks, and this foodie was heaven. I can’t even tell you how impressed I am with the vendors from Orange County. To top it off, it is a completely stunning locale.
I have many more images to follow up with tomorrow but just wanted to give you all a quick sneak peek into this amazing tour spearheaded by Jen McBride of McBride Events and Jay Billie of The Inn at Westwood Farms. I had the special treat of staying at The Inn at Westwood Farm and, well, when you get jealous when you see the pictures of my breakfast… Let’s just say you should be as well as jealous of the amazing shower at the Inn (umm… I took 3 in less than 12 hours) and the porches that are lovely for a great conversation. I can’t wait to go back and even better I can’t wait to go back to shoot some weddings!

I have to do a quick photo shout out because a couple of these photos were taken with my camera by someone else: the picture of the three boots (mine are the black ones…. thank you J.Crew sale. Apparently, I may be the only Richmond vendor without super cute rain gear and I may need to do something to remedy that situation.) was taken by Scott Strimple of United Weddings and the picture of me relaxing (very happily) on my bed for the evening was taken by Meghan Ely of OFD Consulting!

Looking at these makes me want to go back! It was a great 2 day adventure! Thanks for being my dorm mate McSweeny!
Thank you so much, Meghan. May I reblog any of these pics or link to this post? Let Jay, Jen, Elizabeth and thus all vendors know if we are able to use this with attribution to you and what the process is. I know we’ll all be clamoring. Fabulous.
Virginia- I would be happy to share the images with you all. Please email me at meghan@meghanmcsweeney.com and I will forward web sized images to you all! Thanks! Meghan
