A few weeks ago, I met Jenna and Seth in Morattico. It’s a sweet little town in the Northern Neck of VA. Seth grew up going there to visit his grandmother and other family members. (Family members who own the old general store and converted it into a museum about the town.) Jenna, Seth and I scooted around the town escorted by his wonderful family via golf cart. I grew up in the small town of Cartersville and a lot of small towns remind me of it. Morattico was adorable and had a billion photo ops. There was a lot of images that I loved from this session and I had a hard time narrowing it down for this post… see why I hate posting weddings? I still have yet to figure out how to narrow down a wedding to 100 shots and still show the full day.
Some of Seth’s family worked in this store as their first jobs. It reminded me of Blanton and Pleasant’s in Cartersville. I worked there when I was 15 and 16 after school bagging groceries and stocking shelves. The store as everyone called it was the old school general store. It had groceries, appliances, hardware, a barber shop, guns, feed for animals. This museum in Morattico was a similar type place so I really loved shooting in it and seeing all of the history. It is lovingly filled with tons of memorabilia… so much fun!
I hope that you all enjoy!
This is Seth’s grandmothers house. It was bought and beautifully restored. We were lucky enough to still be able to shoot on the front stoop!
I think that their wedding is definitely going to be a fun one.
Ok… I am almost done! I promise. I need to gain some editing skills.
I am so excited to shoot your wedding, Jenna and Seth! Thanks for having me out to Morattico! XOXO
